The Gothenburg trio uses an upright piano rather than a concert grand, with Emil Carlsson Rinstad joined by Magnus Bergström on double bass and Ola Winkler on drums.
Their 2024 debut was conceived as a meeting between two familiar languages, but its small scale and close recording keep it well away from the polished crossover sound that description might suggest.
