For Crossover, Wieśka and Hubert Szymczyński expanded their violin-and-piano partnership with Multicamerata, the chamber ensemble founded in Toruń in 1991. The full cycle of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons gives the ensemble its foundation, but Hubert’s piano introduces a harmonic and rhythmic freedom absent from the original concertos.

The later turn towards Piazzolla feels like a continuation rather than a change of subject. His music already draws concert writing, tango and improvisation into the same space, allowing the album to travel from eighteenth-century Venice to twentieth-century Buenos Aires without abandoning its central conversation between violin, strings and jazz piano.
