When Loussier auditioned for Decca, the label told him it already had plenty of classical pianists and jazz pianists.

He finally played Bach with his own improvisations, prompting the question, ‘What is that?’, and an immediate proposal to record it. The opening Prelude in C was the first Bach piece he arranged.
