Play Bach No. 2

Jacques Loussier Trio

Composer
J.S. Bach
Released
1960
Label
Decca
Forces
Piano, Trio
Personnel
Jacques Loussier, Pierre Michelot, Christian Garros

The first Play Bach sold briskly enough for Loussier to record a second volume almost at once.

A contemporary Time profile described him searching Bach’s preludes and fugues for passages that could swing without upsetting their harmonies, a neat summary of the balancing act behind these early records.
