Victor used the Thomas Hardin Trio name across its Japanese series of jazz treatments of classical and popular music. This Chopin volume selects ten of the composer’s best-known pieces, including the Fantaisie-Impromptu, the “Raindrop” Prelude, the First Piano Concerto and the First Ballade.

The recording has since acquired more than one identity. Victor issued Jazz de kiku Chopin in Japan in 2005, while streaming services have also presented the same programme as Urban Classic Series – F. Chopin. The title and packaging differ, but the ten performances and their running order remain the same.
