Jens Schöwing calls Jotter his personal sketchbook. Five of his own compositions join the group’s Bach arrangements and a Scarlatti sonata; his own music had also featured on the earlier Nocturne and Psalm.

The three-part treatment of Psalm 85 and the changing character of the Goldberg pieces make this feel less like a collection of separate arrangements than pages from a musician’s working notebook.
