Personnel
Stan Kenton piano, with a studio orchestra of Kenton alumni: five saxophones, five trumpets, five french horns, four trombones, tuba, bass, drums and timpani

After disbanding his regular mellophonium orchestra, Kenton assembled a studio band of former members and wrote every arrangement himself.

He left strings out completely and tried to summon Wagner’s scale with brass, reeds and timpani alone; AllMusic calls the result one of the last genuinely innovative records of his career.
