Rosenthal returned to the idea behind his 2010 Impromptu fifteen years later, this time opening the trio to clarinettist Ken Peplowski and violinist Sara Caswell on selected tracks.
The title’s awkward-looking “Impromp2” is intentional: it identifies the album as a second visit to classical themes rather than a misspelling.
